after a week with my cut outs i could not be any happier. the deep throaty sound is great and when wife is in the car i run them just about open n she sayes its fine.she really did not like it when i had bb bullits on to loud for her . this is the best of both worlds.it cost 850.00 to get done at autoxtc in clearwater fl. [ 727-556-0335]. jonh did a great job wiring and the switch on the consol looks factory. im so happy:smack :cheers: with this set up. thanks for letting me tell about it Tom ps this is an a6 auto trans. there are pics farther down this thread

how would you describe the volume level? what after market system would oyu say they compare to? I too am contemplating cutouts: quiet when closed, louder than bullets when open.

$850 are you kidding me? its like 400 for duel qtec cutouts (electric). sounds liek a damn expensive installation.

after trying to find a shop who could do it and the nice job that was done plus putting the switch in i thought it was well worth it. plus the smile i get when i use it is:cheers: well worth the money. plus all the emails for pics i got and now other a6 owners now know that it can be done. so just because you are a cheap scate, go jump in a lake.

Simply opening the dumps on a stocker is probably more detrimental than helpfull. Even if helpfull, it's so negligible, just the current air temp. will have a more contributing factor.
I love dumps (str8 pipes, "glasspaks, etc...) because you're finally getting the sound the car deserves.
5 - 800 bucks may sound like a lotta money for minimal gain (if any), but,
on a warm summer night cruising with the windows down..... Ahhhhhhh!

I don't upgrade my cheapo radio because I never use it.

i was really really close to buying the stingers and i lvoe them. i have heard them. they are also i think like 10-12 lbs lighter but that really doesnt matter that much to me. The appealing thing about electric cut-outs is that say im trying to talk on the phone i will be able to close the cut out and actualy be able to hear. How loud are the cutouts in front of the mufflers compared to the borla stinger system. I still want to hear a video!!! post it up !
