I was driving along yesterday when I see a C6 pulling up behind me. At the light he pulled beside me. I was in my Jeep but admiring the LMB (I have the same) when I noticed the Z06 badging. Seemed odd since there was no hood scope or rear brake cooling ducts.

I used to have a Lightning and would always see normal F150's with the Lightning badge.

I guess I don't get why people have to pretend they have something they don't really have.

Of course, this person might be a ricer convert and believe the badges and stickers will give you the horsepower you are "advertising" you have.

There's a guy that goes to our local car show each month that does that. He has the badges and he put on some dummy brake ducts. He never opens his hood and he keeps his vin# covered up. Makes you wonder.

What's in a badge?

It's the meat that tells the story

It sounds kind of like the ricer that was riding my ass for about 10 miles and trying to go yesterday. he had a mitsubishi avenger.... type R none the less. That type R really worked for him when I flicked him out of my mirror like a bug at 1/4 throttle.

I got one for you.

Everyone is familiar with the FORD F150 Harley Davidson model???

Well, I saw a Toyota Tundra the other day with Harley Davidson badges on the side. They looked just like the ones used by Ford. I seriously though it was an F150 – till I took a closer look. The Tundra’s are big trucks. :surprised

Hahahaha:rolling: People these days. Speaking of Ford and Toyota, Ford recently received awards for the most top quality cars over Toyota that fell behind due to recalls and defects in their cars. I guess they're trying too hard to remain #1 and aren't spending enough time building their cars right. hahaha.

That's some funny stuff none the less. People are weird. That's like my throwing SVT on the back of my vette.

Several years ago when I was in college I was walking though a parking lot on campus and noticed the Porsche badges (front and rear) on a small sedan. :WTF I'm not a Porsche fan, but this seemed unusual enough to warrant further investigation. I went over to look at it, and determined that it was a Mazda 626 (IIRC), debadged and rebadged. I didn't know whether to chuckle or just shake my head. I'm sure he fooled a few non-automotive types along the way, though.

That's the crazy part to me. To the people who don't know about cars, they don't care about that fake sticker. And those of us that do know about cars know that your wishing that's what you owned.

Thanks for the info.

My father works at the Ford plant in Brookpark, OH as a electrician. We have these kind of conversations all the time.

Last night I was driving home and came across a red c5 vert with a zo6 badge and brake ducts. I took a closer look at the rear deck to see if it was one of the rare (and awesome) zo6-vert conversions. Nadda, standard rear deck. I asked if he had an LS6 or what mods he had done and he just looked a little embaressed.

I go the opposite way, I like going no badges (a zo6 badge is different and would always have a home on my fender), especially for sedans and cars that are not well known outside of major car people.
