Z06 intimidation factor

I've noticed that very few people challenge vettes. . . .I was beside a very nice looking NSX the other day and we were both at a red light. No traffic, just open road. . . he rev'd I rev'd back. . . (the look on his face was priceless. . .it was like:toilet ). Well the light turns green and he wanted absolutely no part of it! Is it just me or does everyone get that kind of reaction?

I'm a vette owner and I know when I'm next to another vette, the anxiety starts to build. But I love it:D

To Vettes

95% of the time, people will back down after they hear it or see that its a Z06.
I have not been challenged in over a year since I got the C6 Z. I have also never been challenged while driving our 71 BB with the big 454 emblem on the hood.:D
If they know there cars, there is a reason they do not wan't anything to do with the Z:partyon:
Only thing better then a Z06 is a standard Vette putting out more then a Z06, catches them off guard all the time.

I'll go one better, a C5 Z06 that can blow the doors off a C6 Z06.
:D

No matter how fast you are there is always some one out there that is faster. Even my boy John Force gets beat. :D
with the out-liar being that dumb ass that tries to race you when your already crusing at 70 who just got his used nissan or taurus and put a spolier that looks like rotted beams from a sky scraper on the trunk and used electrical tape to make stripes. :smack

the worst part is the hat on sideways or backwards....or their hooded shirt is pulled over their head.....and they sit so low all you see is the cap.... :WTF
I've only been challenged once in 14 months with the C6 Z and that was some kid in a ricer. I just had to laugh.
Before the C6 ZO6 came out no one wanted to play, but after it came out lots of people that don't know to much about cars just say "O, its the old zo6...'''. They seem to have forgotten that a C5 zo6 is not to shabby it's self, and then they are quickly reminded after you pull on them by a few bus lengths.

How right you are!!!. . . .I've read on several forums "the c6 z06 is a monster. . . . c5 z06's are SLOW!" When did a mid 12 second quarter mile car STOCK become slow?
Those c6 Z06 owners are just enjoying their 15 minutes of fame like we did! lol Besides when that new Blue devil hits the streets, I hope they merge the C6 Z06 forum with the regular coupe and vert like here!
Honestly my C4 only got challenged 5 times tops  ....Maybe it's because most people in my end of town know that every sports car I've owned has little edge ;) .......I'm sure my C6 won't get too much action, especially after it gets a boost from Callaway...it's all good though,..who needs to get caught drag racing on public roads anyway..

Personally I haven't ever seen anyone challenging a Z around here...They know what the result will be... ...........
Back when I had my T/A I would always take one lap around town at night on the summer weekends when the ricers were out crusing, pull up at a red light, peg 6 grand and just slowly drive away.

Nothing beats that I just shat myself look. Something about long tubes, an aggressive cam and the SLP LM that can make you deaf.
I mostly get are ricers as well. I did challenge a Porsche Carrera GT. It was fun and I got smoked, but if you don't challenge other big dogs you never know where you stand. By the way that is a beatiful car.

People do roll up in their SUV's and rev the engine because they want to see the thing take off.

But other than rice burners, a Viper GTS and the random Mustang no one else. I do get to see a lot of exotics, been next to Astons and Ferraris' but they never want to run.

I wish you had that on video. . . .I love the sound of the Carrera GT
I hardly ever get challenged in my Z (616-HP Lingenfelter). However, I have a supercharged Hummer H2, which gets challenged all the times, especially by ricers, and never let them down. The Hummer has H2-R 500-HP logo that is very inviting. This thing does 0-60 under 7 sec, and can keep up with most cars off the line, 1/4-mile in about 14.7 - not too shabby for a monster truck. In the Z, unless it's a respectable exotic, or bike, I don't even bother - nothing to prove.
