I read the RPO codes for my 86, I have the Z51 package. My question is how does the handling package compare to modern day setups?

Ealy C4 was very stiffer,as you know, a base set up for a 84' become a Z51 for an 85'...special bushing hd,larger swaybar,hd bilsteins, not that bad for a 25 years old car and suspension geometry was innovative with a composite monoleaf spring, reducing weight... my suspension upgrade probably would be just a Delrin bushing upgrade and adjustable shocks absorbers, not coil over...i think it was a good project,it works good after 25 years:thumbsup:

IMHO: Given the same tires ( size, foot print & compound ) & without active handling engaged on a newer model anything, a C4 with Z51 will be first out of the corner.

IIRC the C4 pulled 1G on a skid pad.

The above is driver dependent.
