Installing a 425 HP 450 TQ ZZ383 in my '69 coupe. Had original 350/350 aluminum valve covers and liked the vintage look. New valve covers with GMPP crate motor are, well damned ugly truck valve covers. Vortech heads are center bolt valve covers but actually have old style perimeter bolt hole for standard cover. Happy day I thought my old covers would swap over. Noooo. Roller rockers hit on intake manifold side. What's the fix or options for decent looking valve covers for this motor? i have looked at center bolt to perimeter bolt conversion plates, wonder if my old covers would fit now? Saw a set of ?IROC Z center bolt covers that were remininscent of the old ones but dont know if they fit. Also how come many aftermarket valve covers don't have oil fill cap holes??:WTF

The conversion plates should work. Check Jegs or Summit.
:agree:
if the extra 1/4" those give you isn't enough clearence they sell spacers too. Lots of guys are running old school covers on Hipo engines like yours:thumbsup:
