I Have A 92 Vette With The Bose Gold System. My Speakers Are Pretty Much Shot And I Was Going To Replace Them. I Was Wondering What Size They Are So I Can Know What To Look For. Any Suggestions On What Kind To Buy Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!

Well The Front Right One Is Popping And Crackin. The Rears Could Be Something Else But They Haven't Worked In About 3 Months. So I'm Just Assuming. Any Ideas???
Random popping/cracking or sound cutting in-and-out is generally caused by the head unit sending a bad signal on that channel, or the specific bose amplifier that powers that channel is having an internal power supply or other electronic issue. For your system, you have one bose amp for each of the 4 speakers.

Unless that car has had a history of stereo hacks, car audio mods or previous accidents, I would not think wiring was at the top of the list of things to check.

The speakers themselves are usually the last thing to go, and more likely to last forever as long as you play clean sound thru them. Things subjected to serious heat cycling and power handling (like amps) will eventually fail.

Just my 2 cents.

All 4 corners have their own amp.. My best guess is that all 4 Amps need the capacitors changed.. I did this on a friend's 90 vette and it fixed the problems. I also did the same thing for another friends's 92 ( coolblue65 on the forum here)

That would be the place to start. it is also possible that the tuner is going bad, but with poppin and cracking it is more then likely the amps

Ok i pulled my speakers out and found out that they are all good. So how can i find out if its the amps or the receiver thats bad. And I was trying to find out where the relay is? Any suggestions???
In the 1992 the amp is under the tray in the compartment behnd the passenger seat.

When replacing the speakers remember the Bose systems use a proprietary signal. Crutchfield makes a converter if you want to use than the Bose speakers.
