Anyone have any idea where and if any asbestos are in these cars? It just dawned on me that it was possible. my particular concern is with thermal insulation sub carpet materials. I am going to be pulling all of that out this week, want to make sure I don't kill myself.. haha.

Cheers

Just the stuff they listed there; brake pads, clutch, etc. The insulation and padding is made of jute, which is basically just carpet scraps with a backing. Although, I'm not an expert on all of what they used for that, but I never came across any on mine, and being in construction and HVAC, I have a lot of experience with asbestos and recognize it when I see it. That said, you should still wear a mask, since you never know what you'll find, whether someone added something else that does have asbestos, other old nastiness, mouse crap (Hampta virus), etc.

I did run across a post a while back that a guy did a study on the interrior of his Vette. Turned out there was some nasty stuff in the glue in the inside. This was after I took a grinder to mine, oh **** when through my mind. The safe thing to do is treat it like there is something that can harm you when using powered tools on the inside. :thumbsup:Mark
