Do you think belt dressing could be used for tires to soften them up get better traction?
Thanks man!The Torch said:My .02 is don't use it. Typical belt dressing contains isobutane and polybutenes which can soften rubber, that's what make the belt sticky. Besides it would be terribly expensive. VHT does make a compound made for this. I think Jeg's (and similar places) have it.. It usually comes in gallon jugs. The last I knew it sold for about $15'gallon but that was 5 years or so ago. Probably $20-25 now. I don't know how it would work with street tires but some people swear by it with drag radials.
As an off hand comment. A burnout thorugh Coke or Pepsi will do almost the same thing. It'll heat up the tires and make them sticky. I've also heard that beer will do it too but you're to young for that and besides it wastes a good beer
