i was wondering what are the differences between the 69 and 74 frames?

my dad has a 69 stingray and we are restoring it and there is a 74 frame for sale thats all powder coated that we were looking at possibly getting but dont know if it will fit

There might be some minor differences in front bumper mount holes. If you remove the plates that were added to the rear of the 74 frame you will have a frame that can be used for a 69-73 car.

Make sure the frame is indeed a 74. If it is a later year you will have to modify the rear portion of the frame extensively to fit a chrome bumper car.

I had read somewhere that the body mounts on the frame were lowered 1/2" to allow for the 73's rubber body mounts. After looking at the drawings in the AIM's it appears that the mounts were lowered 1/8" or less, not enough to worry about. When the rubber bshings are torqued down they are probably about the same thickness as the solid bushings anyway.
