Have any of you guys tried " LandGolden " tires, from Thailand ?? There is a company called Priority Tire out of Texas that carries them. I checked consumer Reports and their info is sketchy at best . When I came home from my Government paid "vacation", bought a Datsun240 Z . My first set of tires was Pirelli's and they were the " World's Best 10,000 mile tire.......!! ?? If anybody has any knowledge about the LandGolden tires,I would sure love to hear some opinions.

Hey Torch ( Your first name isn't " Johnnie " ), is it ??? OK, let's get serious.......I appreciate your response and you're 100 % Correct !!! But, my checking on info found that there is something about the rubber from Thailand......it's softer.....or something . The specs on the LG27 are really good and they do come with a 60K " Warranty".....I a going to call the warehouse in Texas on Monday and have them send me a copy of the warranty ! I really LIKE the tread pattern on the LG27 and the fronts are $90.00 ea ! I'm gonna do some digging and if all seems " good " I may go ahead and try them. If I do, I'll keep you guys informed on whether I like them or not.

Never heard of them either, so many good tire sources to choose from. If you're looking for price (cheap) in an off brand, that's not the way to go. Get a good quality tire with a good sustaining record of performance. Usually what ever the manufacturer installs on their high end cars are going to be good.

tire manufacturing is a pretty mature industry, there are no hidden skills to making tires, and cars need tires no matter the country.

That said, if you can ship a tire from Thailand to Texas and sell it for 90 dollars, it definitely has to be pretty basic, or perhaps corners were cut that are unavailable down at the Goodyear plant. It is definitely not some kind of extraordinary rubber compound tire.

In my opinion, I would only consider buying such a tire from a local brick and mortar store, because if you get a defective product, dis mounting and the time to arrange a shipping solution will cancel whatever price advantage makes the deal attractive.

I knew a woman the actually got four new defective tires for her truck, a situation I would have thought impossible. I don't want to slander the company because I can't recall the brand, but they were a good second tier name brand company, like a Cooper tire.

Her truck didn't ride right, she went back to the shop, and the manger identified all four tires as defective, and replaced them all free of charge. I saw the tires and the sidewalls looked odd, they had a visual imperfection instead of being smooth.

Personally I see tire brand names I never heard of on really big rims, probably for lack of other choices, because rims like those and the modified vehicles running them are not cheap, and they seem to be working ok. But I certainly wouldn't mess with them with normal sized rims.

Perhaps if you asked around at a tire shop that handles dub wheels, they could give you info on Thailand or general advice on way off brand tires.

Myself, I consider tires a safety component first, because I live in an intense traffic environment , but also realize they are the primary mechanism that will effect my enjoyment of the car. I am fortunate that I can afford high line tires for my vette, but instead of the usual michelins, I went with Goodyear, said in some reviews to be a touch sportier, although for my needs I won't need top performance, except in case of an emergency, where an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I love the Continentals on my C5 Z, but I was not able to get them in the original front size, only the rear. I had to put Michelins on the front. I can stay in most of the few days during the couple months temps dip below 40 and as low as 17 overnight around here, and limit going out to afternoons only, but I need to be able to drive year round if/when necessary. Please ask that guy in your group where he got his in size 265 when you get a chance. thanks

I have the Landgolden tires on my C5, and have had great service out of them. Dont get me wrong...Pirelli would be my #1 choice, then Kuhmo, etc., yes, Michelin also. But at the time I bought the Landgolden, I was trying to rub two nickels together to make a dime ( just a saying I've always heard). Anyway, my recommendation for the Landgolden tires is a +
