Your car is beautiful, all problems can be fixed.

First question.... don't you have insurance coverage? I'm not sure how things are in Kuwait.

I know you must be unbelievably frustrated, and I don't blame you, but you'll lose big time if you sell a broken Corvette.

It certainly doesn't hurt to bring the car to a Corvette shop and have them give you an estimate, it may not be as bad or as expensive as you think. You should certainly find out before you even think of getting rid of her!

well.. i am getting her fixed.. dont know how much yet ! cuz my friend is the mechanic.. told him to take his time and check everything out first.. i dont intend to sell it damaged..thats for sure.. but a good 93's price range is abouy 7500-9000$ .. and believe me.. i'm losing $ everyday on her .. so in the long run i dunno.. it seems better.. i know i will hate my self.. but i dunno.. i cant keep repairing .. i'm still in college .. if i had a job that would be a different story.. cuz i want a vette from every generation .. thats my dream.. but i guess i should put it off for about 4-5 years . !!!
oh and about insurane for a vette !! no way.. not here thats for sure.. and even if they did i dont think they will give a 20 year old insurance !! lol

It could have been worse, take my word for it.

 

finnaly finished my car.. got it all cleaned up to enjoy the fine weather.. drove about 80 miles to a beach with friends for BBQing and swimming.. stayed up all night.. going home about 6 am.. sweet weather HOT car.. driving about 70-75miles/hour.. two lane road.. i see a bunch of signs on the left lane ( MOVE TO THE LEFT, 400m WORK AHEAD ) and about the time i finished looking at them .. i turned my head to the road and saw two jiant speed bumps( humps - or whatever u wanna call them ) like 10 feet away from each other.. all i could do was hold on tight and hope i dont fly of the road... my friend held on .. we held our breathes. and BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM.. it was like running over land mine's.. dust was everywhere in site.. the impact made us hit our heads up into the soft top.. stopped the car immediatly.. started swearing tell my tongue allmost fell off..:finger: and did this alot too.. looked around.. up down.. everything SEEMED fine.. ok.. strated her back up.. driving back home.. i noticed that the steering wheel was off about 20 degrees to the left !!! i was like !@#$ !@#$%@#$!$@#%@ for an hour all the way home.. i could here wierd noises.. like stuff were falling apart.. so i drove about 50 all the 80 miles home ,when i stoped the car.. i looked at the rear wheels, the right wheel was ok.. the left was pushed inwards to the car about 1 or 2 inches and leaning in from the top about 35 degrees !! i was gonna kill my self at that point.. !!! i had just finished the @#$@ing car.. now its back in the garage.. so now.. after a little thought.. i think it aint worth the hassle.. i'm gonna sell my long time baby to some one else to spend their $$$$ on .. cuz i put about 9000$ on her tell this day, and i only bought the car for about 10000$.. i didnt even get my money's worth out of driving her.. so forget it.. i'm getting me a jet bout or something.. !!

well i know how you feel,take a look at some of my posts,i still am gettting her readey for the next trip to the shop due to damage done in a parking lot by a person who wouldnt even stop.hang in there things can only get better:buhbye:

 

Man atleast u get to go on trips..

i work my butt of on the car .. it takes me 3-4 hours just to WASH and clean the interior.. thats not including the engine cleaning..
and what do i get in return .. A GOOD KICK IN THE BEHIND :spanked: :spanked:

if i were a mechanic.. these problems wouldnt be so bad.. the problem having to call someone to go with u to drop of ur car 15 miles away from ur home.. and having to come back again.. and the place where we repair cars isnt like a nice normal city.. its like so much trafic and the streets are horrible.. holes.. bumps.. ups and downs.. and it like driving without law ! ..

if i sold my vette at 9000$ it isnt worth it.. and to know that some ************ kid might buy it and smoke the tires and smack straight into a light post or something is like ..
all i can say is AAAARGHHHH ALL my work is gone..

i love my vette.. its like the only thing i love to wake up to in the morning.. REALLY.. and seeing sparkle after i wash it is.. like.. YOU guys know the feeling !

Is the Vette your only Car. I hate to say it but Just drive the Vette on the Weekends if posible. I honestly Cant tell you what to do because I dont live in Kuwait. Good Luck on any choice you make.:thumbsup:

 

Don't worry so much about the $$$$ if you love the car. My quit being an investment long ago. If you like it just keep dumping money in it and enjoy.:thumbsup:

It sounds like you just knocked it out of alignment(hopefully).There are 2 bolts that ajust the camber on the rear...they have a off center washer like thing with notches to see ajustments. I bet one is off!:huh:

I don't know about you, but ain't no body gonna touch my '93 for $8000.00, especially if it were a vert.

 

well my mechanic drove by with my vette today.. hmmm it took hmm allllll day working on it..
he told me .. well.. ok the first thing . u guys know that big steel round thing that holds up the tires together.. i dunno what its called..well it was bent out of shape on the right !! thats why my tire was leaning inwords.. !! its costs 375 $ but he worked it out and fixed it.. he told me all the bushings and anything that was rubber was faded or gone !! talk about never changing it.. thats why i heard all those wierd noises.. !
another thing he told me was the two top screws holding up the rear right shock were GONE !! he told one more day and i'd be driving on the exhuast pipes lol !! he did all that now.. it drives hell of alot better then be4 ! now he's gonna do the front alignment and the shaking in the tires.. then he's gonna fix the soft top and stop all the noises i hear from that ...

so now i feel a little better.. and i have hope of keeping my baby

Sounds like you bent the bearing assembly, not too bad of a price, I know how much labor it is to take them off

As far as putting money into them, I think we all here are guilty, everytime I think about the investment VS return I realise that there is no such thing right now...fix it, and drive it to enjoy it...

But if you ever did, you should be able to get a lot more than 8k.

 

I say fix it and keep it. It's not like it's the cars fault you didn't see the big speed bumps in time. If the car was a lemon and there was problem after problem, then I would say dump it.

i'm thinking of trading my auto tranny for a 3:73 manual ,,. hope i can ...
maybe throw in a set of ZR-1 chrome wheels and a lowering kit too .. just for the looks )) now that would be hot !
