i had the same question a few months ago. All we came up with was a type on my Haynes manual. 86 runs a maf system. There should be no MAP if I am correct. But, I have been know to be wrong....

He is in Jacksonville so I can't help him too much but Discount Auto Parts told him this is why his car is running rough. I looked in my book and couldn't find any info on it. This would be why. Thanks.
I think the map sensor they are referring to is right below the MAP reading light on the rear view mirror, it is a finger tracing the route on a road map. That would be about the knowledge I think they have.
