Scott-Bill- what's up w/ your builds???

I know Brent's out driving his!!!

PTOB '16 !!!!

And actually PT 15 was a real bust (motor) for me!!!

Thanks for asking- I have been on a marathon-I've tied up so many loose ends -have calluses on my hands!!!

Ordered some brake stuff- fitting/lines to relocate the proportioning valve- but that's about it.

Hoping in a couple weeks to really get back at it- I'll keep you guys posted!!!

My build hit the wall. Some logistics involved but back on track shortly. I'm not attempting to wire. So it's getting wired and exhaust. It sat at a place to long and I had to regroup. Another bump in the road. It'll get there. I want a pic of the C3's together next PT. sorry about your engine Richard.
More soon,
Scott

Hey Scott,
You did the right thing to farm it out. Best to farm out as much as possible anyway unless you want to spend you whole life building one car. Wiring is so tedious, you can have a good 8hr day on wiring and no one else will see it. But it has to be done. Today was a perfect example for me, about 4hrs redoing a wiring harness that I just paid $300 for someone else to do. Looks more like it should have now and will last longer.
When you get the car back it'll be ON!
Cheers.

They're starting on it August 10th. I wish I was closer to one of the experts here on DC. That's where it would be. My issue is proximity. I've put the last 3 years of my life into this car and I don't want it to far away. Time wise it'll be a project for another 3-5 years if I learn everything myself. I'm smart enough not to burn down the car as part of the learning process. Not sure if I can mention where it's at due to forum rules. I will say their car C1 is on the cover of Vette this month. About 1.5 hours north of me so a quick trip on the bike to monitor progress. The little woman is all kinds of ready to go for a ride in her dads car.

Headers.....

C3 Best overall pick right now for BBC Swap & Real Street Performance delivered.
No specialized one off parts required .
Parts may need minor fittment but all are used to that here.

Zinc has 8,000 cash total in his Rubber bumber C3.
Real close to Hellcat Performance 1/4 mile.
Its streetable. Very Fast.

Bill- Scott- bring me your cars- I'll wire them up- I actually enjoy doing it!!!

Having to drop the transmission and deal w/ the hyd line took some wind out of me....

HRPT was a blast till about Memphis when I realized it was more than just a ticking lifter.

But made it almost home- the last 25 miles on a flatbed- and my GF had AAA so it was no big deal- plus the towtruck had AC!!!

I am looking forward to 2016!!!

And maybe -just maybe- get married ON the Tour. My GF wanted to do something fun- I said howabout on the Power Tour and she though it was a great idea.

Anyway- the GF closed on her house a couple weeks after we got back from the Power Tour- between moving her in and getting my house -as she says "finished"- the Vettes are not really getting the attention they deserve.

The floor guys will be finished in a few days- had to clear out the house for them after moving all my GF stuff in- so I have been busy- but do see some time in the garage in my future!!!

I'm thinking of just dropping in a crate 350 in the 73- just makes too much sense as I will probably sell it - with the numbers matching engine on a stand (Did I just say numbers matching?)

I have some really off the wall ideas for my next project...

This comes to mind-

v12 599 by Richard Hayes, on Flickr

C3-vette-ferrari by Richard Hayes, on Flickr

Or maybe putting a LS4 w/ from a FWD late 07-09 Impala transaxle and mount it transverse out back-

Couple of differences from a LS1- but could easily see a 500HP mid engine C3...or go nuts- w/ two LS4-one in front and one out back- for a 1000HP AWD!!!!

Here's an Ariel Atom w/ the LS4 out back-

Here's a guy w/ a Northstar in the back of a PU

And here is what I have been up to-

Redoing the ceiling sheetrock-floors-paint...

if you are really going to fab a chassis to hold a FWD motor/transaxle in the rear
( thus making it 'right wheel drive' again...)
i would do a 455 olds with toronado transaxle, or a 500 cad eldorado motor and transaxle...

either one makes 500ft/lb basically stock, with 350+hp
--and a cam swap alone is usually worth 50-100hp.

thats just me, of course...
